The $150,000 set apart for Insani-

-tary Property Resumption is to complete the work of which

a plan and statement were forwarded with my Despatch No.138

of the 26th. May last; this resumption is now well in hand.

Under Water Supply it is proposed

to make a commencement with the reconstruction of No. 2

Service Tank in Victoria, a work stated to be urgent in

paragraph 21 of Mr. 0. Chadwick's report of the 18th. April

1902

on the water supply of the Colony, and to carry out

a small scheme for supplying water to the new Officers'

Quarters at Tai Po at present dependent for this necessary

on coolie carriage. The Kowloon and Tytam Tuk (No. 1 Sec-

-tion) Waterworks are to be completed. During the year the

detailed plans, estimates, and specifications for the Tytan

Tuk (No. 2 Section) Works will be prepared to enable that

project to be put in hand at the commencement of 1907.

Should the revised Estimates for

1905, according to which there will be a balance of assets

on the 31st. December next of $331,962 and the Estimates

for 1906, as now framed to show an excess of receipts over

expenditure of $290,440 be realised there will be a balance
